Bukit Tinggi Finale : Stepping Out In Faith

Seriously, mission to be pro-blogger: FAIL lah! -__- Can't even make sure I blog every other day decently haiks!

Life at work is a little crazy and I feel everything - work, social, church, personal life - life in general, is kinda jumbled... in a way. Sometimes I feel as if I'm wayyyy too free that I NEED to be with friends, go out constantly, just BE out, you know; some other times I feel as if life's happening wayyy too fast with too many things going on at the same time I couldn't cope. Why ah! Zzz!

Was supposed to be at my aunt's place for dinner before a meeting, but because of miscommunication and miscalculation of time, I couldn't make it to dinner without being late to the meeting, so ended up Jason went alone. When I came out from the meeting and SMSed my aunt to apologize and thank her for the food (she tapau-ed for me!), she replied back saying "you're welcome. it's not good to take food at odd hours, don't do it so often". And I. just. totally. broke. down =.= Trust me to do things like this. =__='''

Ah yi, this is a bit geli lah I know, but hey, if you're reading this, THANK YOU for everything! (erm of course, hi mom! hi grandma! THANK YOU too for EVERYTHING!!! :D)

Sigh. I *think* I need a holiday.

So let me quickly finish up the last batch of pictures from Bkt. Tinggi so that I can go dream about my next holiday now! Weeee!

---

At 7 in the AM, we were woken up by this...

The Vietnamese are having their morning service/praise and worship

How vibrant! They were all sweating and panting from all the singing and jumping but their spirit was SO high! Everyone was smiling jovially, singing with all their hearts, and dancing like there's no tomorrow in celebration of a God so full of grace, mercy, and love! I was so touched seeing them worshipping without a care of how others would think. I mean, that's how it should be, right? Jesus willingly died on the Cross for us because He so loved us! And yet all we can give is mere lip service, mouthing the songs week in and week out, standing there, refusing to move *shifty eyes* Do we even mean what we sing? Haiks!

I *HEART* BREAKFAST!!!

Coffee *love*, meehoon goreng, sausages, bulls' eyes (so many biji you know! x_x I'm afraid we are now overdosed on hormone zzz no wonder I see Jason is acting a little siss weird lately... must be the eggs hmmm), and uh, cucur bawang, a bit salty and oily, but bad fat happifies you, so a *little* won't hurt. Oh look! My shoe! So cute! Hee!

Chillin' after a big, long burp

We don't take picture together alot. This is one of the few. I like it! Because I look good here! (OK lah! Not bad lah! Quarter of face covered up ady of course boleh pass lah! T_T) p/s Jason is now officially botak! xD

And then the guys went for a dip! Like, a real high deep dip...

Testing the water

Awwwww! Another of my favourtest pictures! And please, that's not me ok. =.=

Dead. Haha!

I think my slippers oozes awesomeness!

Lunch! More Food! <3

Curry chicken, stir-fry vege, omelette (more eggs! mm hmm!), rice, and breakfast leftovers.

Holy posing

Group photo, of course!

This was taken after one last round of prayers and worship. It was raining just before and the view was magnificent! Except, we have the vietnameses who just came back from their workshops totally ignoring us and talking on top of their lungs, and was busy preparing/chopping up fruits for their bonfire at night while we sang our hearts out -_- ZZZZ

---

To be able to spend time with God is a super priviledge. In the name of busyness, we shut Him out and we drown His voice, I'm guilty as charge. But how much He longs to hear from us!

Sure, the first steps are always cold, insecure even. But once you step out and take the plunge, you'll know that He is there to catch you, He is there to envelope you with so much of love and grace, you'll wonder what you've done to deserve it.

He took the first step for us, will you not also take your first step for Him?

S#2: It happened here *points*. My pet tortoise, Sang Ninja lost its way home and was drown to its tragic death here:(

I kinda like this shot, but I think there's too much green and that it could be more focused. Heh

This was taken @ Janda Baik... a small commercial hub/town along the highway. There was a commercial farm there. And to see the tourist kids playing in the river water got us all eeuuwwwified... I mean, remember S#1 and S#2 from up there? /swt *shifty shifty eyes*

Bumpy one-car-space entrance/exit. I had a brain concussion after that zzz

Ladies and gentlemen! I (we) have arrived!

Camwhoring started while waiting for our rooms to be sorted out

My home in the jungle

We had a mixed-up room saga. The owner's relative came unannounced and conveniently claimed the room which we've booked and refused to swap even we've paid for it! Like that also can! T__T

So we had to compromise *wuttoodoo. ppl so mangsat takkan you go and quarrel right T___T* zzz Jason and I ended up occupying a 6 bedded dorm all to ourselves instead of the family room lol But it's all good because we get a private balcony, amazing view and privacy as we face the jungle/mountain, plus we get to neighbour ps tim and uncle.ditz and we get exclusive room service! The only downside was, to get to my peepee island, I had to travel into the jungle! GAHHH T____________T no lah. kidding lah! Just downstairs. heh :) But still!!!! T___T

Imagine waking up and chilling to these views! Fancy that huh ;)

settling in/setting up

Kak Suteri/Sutri/Putri/Puteri Bukit Tinggi (=.=') was amazingly friendly and accomodating!

The worship sessions was out of this world!!! ps tim preached, uncle.ditz led worship, I backed up, jason was the congregation. Amen! *nods head*

If you really seek, you're really desperate for Me., then I Am right here. I've never been away...

Finding our way down to the waterfall. Ignore the drama king =.=' Spot the drama king!

Family building

When you have nothing to do, no agendas to follow, no activities to get crazy over, no phone, no wifi, this is what you start noticing - perfectionistic insects making babies.

Plunge Ady!

Snipped my hair short! Alright, not exactly short short, but it's kinda above shoulder length. Ahhhhhhhh FINALLY! :))))

The hairstylist ironed and curled my hair at the end and wiped on hair serum so every strand is in perfect position and curl. For now.

I dread the hair wash session tonight :(

Ask me quick! What would I do if I have a gazillion dollar! What would you do if you have a gazillion dollar? Well, for one, I'll hire a personal hairstylist on standby just for myself! I know! Soh clever right! >) *pats own head*

Here We Go!

不管是好是丑,人是要有突破的。至少在一百巴仙里头,在丑与美之间,有五十巴仙是美的。为什么要去在乎那丑的一面呢?

Joh! Cliché kau-kau! But OK. So I think I'm ready to take the plunge! >.<

Mnister's Father

We were at the Kelana Stadium last night and caught Anwar in action! It was so cool to finally see him in person. I think Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng were around too, but I couldn't see from where we were standing. Anyway, from the newspaper, it was reported that around 20,000 attended the rally and for real, the atmosphere was so... patriotic, so... I don't know, majestic! Especially when Negaraku was sang, everyone waved the Malaysian flags and we were just so united, you know! I've forgotten how long ago was it I last sang the national anthem with such patriotic zest! Haha!

Anyway, I SMSed my dad just now telling him this,

"I was at Kelana Stadium last night and I saw Anwar!"

He replied:
"FOR WHAT YOU WANT TO BE A MINISTER" (he meant to ask "You want to be a minister, is it?" zzz lol)

I replied:
"HAHA! SO COOL! HIDUP RAKYAT! Next year this day, on the Sep 16, I declare you a holiday!"

He replied:
"OK TQ I AM FATHER OF A MINISTER NOW"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Uh OK maybe not so funny for you, but my dad!!! T_T SO CUTE!!!! LOLLLL

Teresa Kok's Arrest: Life's Unfair. But This Is Too Much!

I just read this on the net. I thought you’d be interested.

Two Malay-Muslims groups who still believe that Selangor exco Teresa Kok was
against the azans emanating from local mosques have come out to defend her detention under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Bernama reported yesterday that the Muslim Consumers’ Association of Malaysia (PPIM) and the Islamic NGOs, Heritage Associations, Malay Cultural Organisations and Related Bodies Cooperation Network (Pewaris) had lodged police reports against Kok.

[…]

“The detentions are proof that the government does not remain silent in matters involving racial sensitivities and the Federal Constitution.

“Matters such as these should be viewed seriously because, if ignored, they could incite hatred in the people, especially the Malays, because their special position has often been disputed by certain quarters,” PPIM secretary-general Dr Ma’amor Osman was quoted as saying yesterday.

[…]

Speaking to Malaysiakini today, Ma’amor said just as Muslims do not seek to disturb or affect any changes to the religious ceremonies of non-Muslims, Kok should also not have sought to disturb or affect any changes to that of Muslims.

“Azans are among the 'syiar' (symbols) of Islam, and she was trying to change or
influence the syiar of Islam,” he said.

He claimed that Kok and other DAP leaders such as its national chairperson Karpal Singh have a history of making statements against Islam.

[…]

When pointed out that the petition by the residents near Bandar Kinrara were not against the azans per se but the religious lectures, Ma’mor said this does not make a
difference as both azans and religious lectures are “syiars” of Islam.

“Don’ttouch the syiars of Islam at all,” he said.

(source)

Rightly said Dr. Ma’mor! Well now that you clarify it, I hope you guys will get to earn more respects and understanding from us Malaysians who are not in the faith from now onwards :)

How time flies! It has been almost 5 months since we first made Puchong our home! We love our taman so much! There’s a forest bordering it, and it’s always cooling and breezy at night, and quiet, no morning calls of any sorts, well ok, maybe just the mosquitoes!

Last month we also hosted cell group at our place which was really cool! Back in Bangi, a densely Malay-populated area, we weren’t able to do so – hosting cell group, I mean – besides the reason of the distance for our cell group members to travel to and fro, our apartment committees weren’t too happy either when we had some guests over during our house warming when we first moved in.

I remembered we had our cell group members from church visiting, and Pastors and family came too! Jason and I were really excited, because honestly, the house was really a little too empty, too quiet for our liking.

Early in the morning, we went around Bandar Baru Bangi/Kajang town to buy snacks, lunch, drinks, paper plates, etc, then came back and continued cleaning the house hoping the apartment will be comfortable for our guests.

At noon, our VIPs arrived! All in I think there’s less than 15 of them and before we attack the food, being Christians, our pastors prayed for God’s blessings to be upon us in the house, we said grace for the food, and sang a couple of praise songs with our cell group leader on the guitar; all these, were done behind closed doors, mind you.

15 minutes into the motion, I think we were halfway singing, there was a knock on our heavy, sturdy door. When it was opened, we were greeted by a group of 7 or 8 Malays garbed in songkoks, tudungs, and baju melayus; one of the men demanded to speak to the owner of the house. Jason stepped forward.

What came forth from the lips of this gentleman had caused our jaws to drop and our perception about this group of people sealed. Forever.

He said, “Apa yang berlaku didalam?” [What’s happening inside?]

When replied that we were having house warming, prayer and feast, he continued by saying:

“Encik tutuplah semua pintu dan tingkap, kena respect sikit kaum islam yang tinggal disini. Kalau boleh rendahkan suara.” [Please close all the doors and windows, you have to respect the muslims that live here. If possible, lower down your voices]

Despite being shock and confused, Jason replied, in as gentlemanly a manner as the guy in baju melayu was, “Ini baru kali pertama kita ada sembahyang dirumah, itupun mungkin kali terakhir. Pintu besar kita tutup. Bukan macam sesetengah orang, sembahyang pakai loud speaker 5 kali sehari, bangunkan sekampung. [This is only the first time we are having prayers at home, and it may be our last. Our door is closed. Not like some others, do their prayers using the loud speakers 5 times a day, waking up the whole village.]

The gentlemen replied “kita kena respect lah” [Well, we have to respect others]

To which Jason answered with “Kamu kena respect kita juga. Ini baru sekali kita ada jamuan dirumah kan.” [You have to respect us too. This is the only one time we have a party at home right?]

Jason proceeded to invite them in and join us. They turned us down, and went away seething. Since then, most of the residents in the building knew us by name, it was as if a poster of “WANTED” with our mug shots and names were circulated for easy ID; they’d eye us suspiciously whenever we walked past and the aunties in sarong will whisper and warn their children not to go near us, we get children throwing erasers and all kinds of stationeries on our car from above the building, the result was a cracked windshield. I’m only sad children at this young age were already taught how to differentiate colours and religions.

That incident was 2 years ago. Even though we are no longer residing there, strangely, we don’t feel very much liberated, in fact, things are getting a little… absurd.

Do you feel the same?

OL From The Second Floor, With Private WC

Hello from the land of uh… many hawker stalls and traffic jam, Sri Petaling, the location of my new company. It feels really weird to be blogging again, and what’s worse, I’m typing this with a sense of guilt and paranoia because apparently, my company is not very big with its employees having any sort of contact with the outside world using the net. Bleah.

But rightfully so, I guess, your time in the office should be devoted to the company entirely but, man am I bored! T__T When I’m done translating one article, I’ll be mentally drained, physically exhausted, and pretty much KO-ed; but I have no source of energy charging (i.e blog-hopping, msn-partying)! Well, other than thestar.com.my. -_- but as you all know, it’ll only serve to raise my, and your, blood pressure.

With my logging into blogspot/blogger kinda frequently now, I’m afraid they might pick the trail and block them altogether! T_T or terminate me on grounds of erm… blogging! O___o eh yeah hor! Suddenly thought of that! Erm, I guess I’ll save this up to be published when I’m off work lah. =_=’’’ Seriously, what have I got myself into lah?!

Oh by the way, do you want to know my timetable? Come! Let me share with you my timetable! It is by far THE most interesting thing in my life, other than the free nescafe the company's poviding.

Alarm will go off at 6am. SIX FRIGGING AM! T____T and I actually want to have it goes off at 5 to do my devotion. Who am I kidding man!

Snooze. Ring. Snooze. For 15 minutes.

Wake up and proceed to sit on the throne for say 10 to 15 minutes, just to sit off the sleepiness. What? It’s important OK! T_T

Wash up and stuff.

Fret over what clothes to wear, because honestly, not much shopping had been done during my holiday month. Thanks to some crazy retsnips (don't bother decoding lah zzz) who stood my translating project up and I ended up wasting time cleaning the mess she created and now kena chased by her for payment! Outrageous! Argh! Being an employer sucks.

I’m into my 3rd day now, and my somewhat presentable work clothes are running out real soon, like, tomorrow -_- I mean, what do you expect right? 2 years of jeans, tshirts, and flats and now you want me to dress up?! Pfft! Madness! But on a different note, it does feel good to be in anything but jeans, and actually feel like a *ahem* lady. Heh.

By the time I pick out what to wear, it’s 6:35am, plus minus. Now it’s a mad dash to get my face made up. Quick swoops of foundation, colour for lids, I can’t line my eyes though because by mid day, the line will like, you know, drop, making me look like a red Indian -_-, mascara, comb eye brows, speedy swirls of blusher, and colour for the lips!

I just cut my hair 2 weeks ago and it’s growing into a bush now. So I’ll also have to decide how to tame it, either pony tail it, bun it, or convince myself that the mess of a crowning bush is actually the latest, sexiest hair trend. It’s usually a pathetic attempt, I know. You don’t have to remind me. Daymnit!

If there’s time, and I’m not being a bitch, which usually I am every morning =) I’d make a cup of milo for Jason. And dash out of the house to be greeted by never ending lanes of traffic congestion. Seriously, like bumper to bumper, inch by inch, if-I-give-you-a-Lotus-Elise-right-now-you-won’t-even-want-my-life kinda congestion. Zzz.

Reach office, park car, read in car (Blind Faith courtesy of Juju), wait for office door to be opened, get into office, make coffee, chomp on biscuits (coffee, milo, biscuits, Lot 100 gummies are company-sponsored items yay), read thestar.com.my, start work – which is translating articles for now, stare and focus on the clock hoping I am Hiro of Heroes and move time, or whatever, wait for lunch time, read thestar.com.my, refresh my yahoo mailbox every 10 seconds, try translating another page of article which proves to be quite a gargantuan task, stare and focus on the clock hoping I am Hiro of Heroes and speed up the time to 6pm, and hope my boss won’t email or call me and subject me to utterly uncomforting meetings and such.

When 6 strike, I'll kinda have to like, sneak out of the office with a graceful and brave front, because everyone else is staying until 10pm ~_~ and I'm well, not. I’ll then be greeted by another set of never ending traffic jam all the way back to Puchong. Everywhere I turn, it’s jam, jam, jam! Yum! Can you believe that! Urgh! The ramadhan crowd only makes things worse!

Reach home, sprawl on the coach with sore feet (yes lah! yes lah! very unladylike lah, whatever. Heels hurt ok! T_T), get change, another mad rush to church for whatever activity if any, rush to go home and fight for more time to sleep.

Repeat cycle.

Congratulations HOleishia! You’re now one of the many indistinguishable office ladies on the face of the planet earth! Ooo I feel so exclusive!!!

OK enough lah! The creative brain needs to rest! I’ll blog later… when Rachel or Gabby start bugging me again! :p

Oh man, I just ate a piece of cake with kiwi slices on top (for tea, courtesy of the company too! HEHE! Looks like from now on my only lifeline is free food from the company =___=) and now my tongue itches like a flea-infested dog! GAH!!!!

The Story Is Like This...

Man! I thought this day will never, ever arrive! *kisses ground maniacally* T_____T THANK GOD!!!!

32 Minus 14

Ugh.

What would you do when life deals you with the most unreasonable, it's-everyone-else's-fault-but-mine, suckiest ever, almost a living hellish, basically the minute you call her she'd scream and yell at you (which, btw, I believe that's her style of talking) temp-colleague who happens to be your ex-lecturer?

Sweet talk. That's what you do.
