She's just born with the aksyen wassup-dude face lah. -_-

xxx

So I have been away, not away away, but away enough to be away, however haven't really been away. Yeah.

Losing the blogging mojo. Haiks.

Half of last week was spent on the road to Ipoh and Penang. Jason's work, my holiday *big wide smile* This Sunday we are off to Lang Tengah!!! Goodness, these trips are like, my lifeline. Without which I'd be crying myself to sleep every night.

OK, exaggeration. Heh. But you know what, my working/career life is such a... I wouldn't say a mess, but it's complicated enough to keep me tongue-tied whenever people ask. It's like a... love triangle, I guess.

A is with B thinking B has what she wants but eventually A no longer likes B although B promises to make A a queen over her "castle", instead A have been lusting for C, and finally C is within A's reach and A launched into it, they are the perfect match except A is still attached to B. So A decides to opt out and so she breaks things up with B but B started crying and saying how A is being short sighted and wasting her future away. A being a weakling retracted her breakup letter thinking she'll talk about this another time but B thinks otherwise.

Finally "another time" came and A thinks, hey, it's do or die. So she did it and brought out the breakup letter again. B is playing smart now because he now plays strategy and says please give me some time. I need you, for now you can go back to C anytime you want but those times when you're not with him, stay with me, pleaseeeee. So A thought OK, that's fair (wth! SIN!!! lol). But soon A finds out that B never plans to let her go, he thinks by him buying some time A will eventually change her mind and never ever leave him. And at the same time A finds out that she's pregnant with C's kid(s)!!!!! OMG this is so fun to type I think my blogging mojo is never gone after all!!! =D HAHAHAAH!

But really loh, the story matches my work life now. Sigh. Oh well whatever, I've made my plans and I'm sticking to my plans. If I don't learn to live my life then no one will and life is only once daymnit. (Confirmed chopped signed blogging mojo is back!!!! Oh happiness! Lalala)

Ooo as I erm, crap along I realized I didn't upload pictures from our Missions trip to Melaka last month. Wait, I go dig 'em out.

Oh, I've deleted them from this computer after all! Sorry! Haha! :p

So yeah, let me tell you about my Braxton instead. She's around 4 months old now, and although she's naughty like anything, but I'm totally proud of her because as of Monday, she officially has the whole house to herself without being locked and caged up 24/7, and, get this: she. did. not. chew. down. the. house. nor. did. she. destroy. anything. !!!!!!. Can you believe it?! AND! She pooed at her designated, newspaper-laced corner!!!!!!! T___T Words can't describe how proud I am of my baby! And you should be proud of her too papa Jason! So the house is dustier than usual because she digs the walls, so the house is a little smellier than before because uh, she doesn't wear eau-de-toilet, but that's what makes a house, home! Erm... right? *shifty eyes*

Anyway!!!

B is calling. Gotta go back to him now. T__T

Till then, let's hope my Lang Tengah pictures turn out divine, the trip and weather superb, the company NICE (hear me! Be nice! You, you, you, you and YOU!), and I don't drown or become blind when I snorkel. Sigh.

Ta.

Since You Are Babysitting My Dog...

Dear sister,

First of all, thank you very, very, very much for willing to lend a helping hand. Good Samaritans don’t come easily these days. Hehe. :p

Anyway, I’m really grateful that you offer to take in Braxton for the weekend. To make things easier, I am typing out a few areas of concern for your reference, hopefully this will minimize your headache (Braxton is naughty but that’s because she is such a baby at heart! … and mind… uh, and body too =.=)

Areas of concern:
1. Food
Simply feed her with her biscuits twice a day (morning and evening). But I understand that with grandma around, she is bound to eat rice and chicken (and unwanted washed char siew and unknown stuff. -_-). That’s fine, just keep the rice/chicken ratio to 2.5:1. Just please remember to add water to the rice because when it’s dry, the rice is very sticky and she finds it difficult to eat.

You can also add the biscuits to the rice and chicken for her. Please remember and remind grandma not to feed her with human food/scrapes other than her white rice and plain chicken. No vege kuah or meat kuah please. Or else I will have a hard time later.

As it is, she’s already not eating much of her biscuits already since she’s tasted “Bill Jack”, it’s saltier, and thus tastier. Zzz. And please, no fruits, no cold stuff, no uncooked stuff.

2. Noise pollution
She makes noise when she’s caged up too long and is bored, obviously, what more there are always activities around her. So if you are around, as much as you can, do free her, she may be hyper at the beginning and goes crazy, but after awhile she’ll quiet down. I hope.

I also noticed that by 7am, she will make hell of noise because she thinks that’s the time everyone should be up -_-. But I don’t see any problem since that’s the time grandma and the maid wake up too right? But maybe then she’ll need supervision.

As much as you can, don’t tie her or cage her up too much, that is the reason she becomes cuckoo.

3. Discipline
Don’t let her jump on anyone. Simply use your leg to push-kick her away, you can use more force (just please don’t hurt or kill her T_T) to scare her a bit. If she becomes uncontrollable along the way, always show her you are the alpha bitch (HAHAHAHA!) and lock her up in the cage or leash her up.

We also usually use rolled up newspaper to chase her down, just be careful not to hit so hard til she slips her disc (the backside bones), but must be hard enough also so that she remembers the pain and that you are not playing with her (and that you are the alpha bitch :x)

4. Her safety
As much as she is the naughty one and usually the guilty one, her safety is also important. Our Kelana Inn is a high traffic place, so remember to keep an eye on her in case she runs out of the house because sometimes when the maid or us go out of the house, we normally leave the gate wide open, and trust me, Braxton is an excellent ninja girl – she moves without sound and is super fast.

Remember the time when puppy Polly dashed out of the house and almost got knocked down by a car at night? That is my nightmare til this day ~_~

Also, she hasn’t completed all her 3 vaccines yet. So please do not bring her out for walks or she’ll be exposed to the danger of infections and die omg please don’t kill her yet T____T

5. Your safety
Also keep an eye on her whenever grandma(s) is around. The last thing I want is to be told she trips our dear senior citizens over and thus will be deported to Korea or Vietnam or China.

6. Bitch Fight
I did some research and found out that yes, male dogs fight, but after they are settled with who’s the boss, they will then live happily ever after together.

But not with bitches.

They fight for every/no reason at all apparently; when they fight, they really fight, as in fight-till-you-die fight, and there’s no ending. So never, ever keep Polly and Braxton in the same place without supervision. Polly is older and she’s never really mingled with other dogs, so naturally she’s snobbish with Braxton. And Braxton, well, let’s just say she’s plain ignorant because her mental strength is not developed yet, haha. SO again, never, ever keep Polly and Braxton in the same place without supervision. In this case, let Polly have the upperhand, and Braxton to submit to her... just keep them away from each other lah! zzz

7. Poo and Pee
I would say Braxton is house trained but she loves to test my patience by shitting and peeing everywhere. Now usually her “orh” time is in the morning during her breakfast, and in the evening during her dinner time.

So before letting her out, set her breakfast and water at the porch, and let her eat and do her business there. Alternatively, also consider putting her food inside her cage and then let her out to poo. The tiny risk is she might shit inside the cage. And step all over it! Yeay.

Please also set newspaper out there and try to educate her to pee there. Back at home, I put newspaper at the corner of the kitchen and usually she knows how to go there to pee and poo. Until she thinks otherwise is funny, that is.

8. Fresh Water
This is utterly important. I have brought along her water bowl, so you may tell the maid to keep the bowl filled and put it inside her cage. Do not put the bowl alongside Polly’s because they will fight.

Also do not put them together during meal times.

Anyway, water will be passed out every 45 minutes; hence it is important they have access to fresh water at all times. Or else her pee will smell like soy sauce. Serious!

9. Your safety (2)
For your own good, do not give in to her every whim and will or your weekend will be a living hell, say starting from 7am. Let her know she’s gotta be quiet and calm before getting what she wants. By the way, she is getting to the concept of “sit” now, so please practice the sit command with her.

When you get up, or reach home, you do not need to attend to her first thing. Settle your stuff and when you’re ready then only get to her (do not let her out if she’s barking and jumping crazy).

10. Happy Together
When she’s bored, she bites. So you either give her her plastic drumstick to play with, or play fetch with her with the drumstick (remember to shout fetch every time you throw). She enjoys it! Only remember to praise her every time she runs back and ACTUALLY gives you the drumstick (sometimes she’d run to you with the toy and just before reaching you/just as you say “good girl”, she’d de-tour and run away with the toy x_x)

If you are feeling guilty for not paying enough attention to her/being fierce to her, then just flip her around and give her tummy rubs. That’s usually erm, what I’ll do. Heh.

Uh, I think that’s all lah. Not too difficult right? Since you’ve saved me $54 for 3 nights of boarding @ the vet, Jason says he will belanja you makan! :D Yay! Food! So see you when I get back and hopefully, Braxton (and you) will be in one piece!

Ta!

Question

Why do people label a stray/abandoned cat generally as “domestic short hair” and not simply a stray or a pariah? Domestic. It has such nice ring to it.

Then again why do people label a stray/abandoned dog as “mongrel”, “stray”, and “pariah” and not just simply a domestic short hair/long hair/no hair/whatever?!

Noun 1.
mongrel - derogatory term for a variation that is not genuine; something irregular or inferior or of dubious origin; an inferior dog or one of mixed breed.

Noun 2.
pariah - derived from a Tamil word first used in English in 1613, to refer to the lowest level of the traditional Indian caste system; in English, it is used to mean “a social outcast”; it can be used for anyone also known as Untouchables, very low in society.

pariah dog - ownerless half-wild (?) mongrel dog common around Asia.

Bias much?

There Is Hope After All!!!

For those who have been in touch with me and Jason in the real world would know about the litter of puppies which we are trying so hard to get them adopted into a loving home.

SMSes, emails, words, pictures were conveyed a million times, friends who were potential adopters in the end turned us down due to various reasons, which as heart broken as I am, I can’t go around blaming them either.

So finally I posted the pups up on petfinder.com, half hopeful, half fearful seeing how they are hundreds if not thousands of cute puppies and pedigreed dogs being listed (free!) for adoption, so what makes me think that our litter of strays will appeal to people for adoption? And what if people adopt them for the sole reason of expecting them to guard their house but they know nothing about treating a dog right?! And puppies are cute to look at, but many handfuls when it comes to taking care of them. Oh trust me on that, I have one at home now so I know! T_T And WHAT IF THEY ARE ABUSED LATER IN THEIR NEW HOME?! AND THEN GET ABANDONED? AND THEN THEY BECOME STRAYS ALL OVER AGAIN AND THEN MPSJ WILL HUNT THEM DOWN AND TORTURE THEM HOW HOW HOW?!!!! T___T

Hence, with a (very) doubtful mind, I started thinking of ways to collect donations to send the pups to shelters, which honestly I really don’t want to, because I know somehow if they are not adopted, they’ll be put to sleep anyway. Aargh! The cruelty! T_____T

I know! I know! Sending them to shelters will help them cheat death a little longer and that even if they do die there, we are still doing them a favour blah blah blah! Excuses! All these are excuses; excuses for us to wash our hands from taking care innocent, helpless animals (and humans for that matter!)!

OK, so I’m stubborn like that. Zzz.

So anyway, back to my good news! :) The day after I posted them up, I received 3 calls from concerned animal lovers expressing their interest to adopt the pups!

That is freaking great news to me! Scrape that, make that seriously HUGE!!! That boosted my confidence level in mankind. Chewah! Hahaha!

I just hope and wish and pray and fingers-cross and double cross and pray some more that the puppies will have a safe, responsible, and most importantly, LOVING home to call their own!

Now assuming all 3 persons will adopt 1 pup each, there are 5 more plus 2 mommy dogs to go! Keep spreading the news (if you need info, email or call me!)! One at a time, baby, one at a time. Man I know we can do it!!! xD

Thank You, God! You the Man!

Robbed of Rights

You’ll never know what you’ve missed until you lose it.

How cliché! And we have to learn that face-on through a dog and 2 pups. Not just any dogs, stray dogs at that!

The town council p*gs peeps came. They are barbarians Let’s just say they are not friendly people. There were a lot of choking, forcing, dragging, generally terrible, miserable rough handlings. We were so mad, you have no idea.

And the bravest thing I’ve ever done in my entire life was, I threw my temper, black face, unfriendly words, and everything else in the package at these oh-I’m-just-doing-my-job p*gs people worker.

“The God who created them, created YOU too! We are not stopping you from doing your job, but have a heart. These are only babies damnit!”

The mother was barking for help, in anger, in agony, in fear, in tears.

Another litter is in the bird house - generously and kindly offered by a lady neighbour.

The handsome papa dog is now gone.

No goodbyes. No more shadows of him. No more peeping from behind the fence when we come home. No more wagging of tail begging for food when we step out from the house. No more tailing us whenever we go for walks.

No more.

They are gone. Made widows, made fatherless, made brotherless. Made friendless.

Made lonely. Made lost. Made fearful.

An SMS came in.

“I was trying to hide from you yesterday. I actually miss the father dog.”

Me too. I miss him too...

The Buffet That Never Was

Last night we attended a cocktail party.

Only we didn’t know it was a cocktail party until we were there, where the ladies were dressed to the nines and the gentlemen garbed in exquisite silk batik, while us, well, casually chic. In jeans and flats. -___-'''

It was apparently a soft launching of a hotel in Putrajaya and that was as far as Jason remembered to tell me. Well ok, to his credit, he also remembered to tell me that “the hotel is soft launching the other day… so they invited us to go… try… buffetfood…. eat.... dinner…”

Uhm hmm. Riiiight.

See, mostly he only forgot (key)words like "dainty", "finger food", and "DRESS UP PLEASE DEAR". That's all! T_T

“What? Who reads invitations?! People invite, you come. People invite, you come!” was his defense.

=.=’

But oh well, we had a good time nonetheless (Read: me chiding the mindless husband and him faking drunkenness and totally ignoring my chiding his mistake. Lovely couple, we are. -_-)

The party area was large and dimly lit, so we sat down by the pond side, munched on bite sized cocktail food – cheese slice, 1 half bite, char kuey teow in cone, 2 bites; smoked salmon wrap, 3 bites; barbequed prawn stick, 2 bites; grilled lamb on bone, 1 bite; mascarpone in spoon, 3 friggin’ licks! How cool is that yo! Talk about staying in shape baby!

Les Petites Joie De Vivre

The days have been a mundane routine of work, eat, sleep. The mornings blend into the nights and the nights to the mornings. By the rate we are going, I thought we’d erase the words “relax” and “enjoy” from our dictionary before 2009 strikes, what with my new boss being a tough nut in approving leaves, and then there’s Jason’s big plan of savings and clearing loans. But I was pleasantly surprised that I’m actually still capable of enjoying and thanking God for the littlest things in life!

Thanking God for this

Yes. Patches of budding grass on my front yard. The two little patches of land on either sides of the porch.

When we moved in, they were infested with weeds and covered with stones, broken tiles and ceramics and basically, they are really an eye sore. We’ve used two big bottles of weed killer, they grew back; we’ve hoed it, and trust me the tough work in doing so, the land’s so hard with all the stones underneath the earth you’d wish you’ve hit a gold pot every time the hoe goes down, but hey, the weed grew back; we’ve mowed it, they grew back too. We got so tired of it I remember we complained and asking God to, hey, You grow them ok please? We give up! We want us a carpet of nice, green grass, not weeds. *grunts*

We are now noticing that grass is growing healthily! :)

Of course we are not pro farmers or gardeners so seriously, we don’t understand a bit about gardening. Maybe all the weeding work has promoted the growth of the grass, or whatever, but we are still awed by God’s hand in all things, down to the petty grass-growing chore! Now I'm thinking if I should throw some seeds on the earth. Hah!

And then, there are these

A litter of puppies!

We always pay them a visit during our almost daily walks in the evenings, and one of the little cutie (I shall named him Indie here forth) got acquainted with me. We’ve made friends!

Last night after admiring the grass and getting so awed, we went visiting the little ones by the road side. And guess what? They came running towards us (instead of running away as they always do when they were a few days younger), sniffing us enthusiastically!

After a short time of playing, we moved on with our walk, but when I turned back, Indie was following us! Haha! When he noticed that I noticed him following us, he stopped and watched and pretended turning back to his pack, so we pretended to ignore him and walk on, he started following again! Gah! Cuteness overload!!! lol

xxx

Maybe life is really all about knowing how to enjoy the little things we came along. We don’t have to own them, we don’t have to live with them, but as long as we know how to be grateful to God for them, je pense que la vie sera toujours belle.

What I Learned From My 3-Day Company Training

that 3-in-1 coffee served in disposal cups are much yummier than drinking from mugs! Really! >)

You Drive Me Crazy!

I was over the moon last night!!!! ~.~

I played with one of my neighbours’ GOLDEN RETRIEVER! *if I’m dreaming please don’t wake me up! Prays*

A goldie! A GOLDIE leh!!! And he doens't stink! lol

He’s 3 years old, he’s huge, and he’s so… calm, almost like zenning out most of the time. He wagged his tail when I called out to him, smelt my hand a bit, decided I’m not… erm, hazardous, and then, he just totally zen-ed out, standing there quietly while I petted him! He didn’t go all lickety-licky and salivate and pant and stick his nose up you or anything! Good boy! I like!

OK, I think I’m ready for big dogs now! x)

AND then! After playing with the goldie, we went for a walk around our neighbourhood lah, on our way back, we saw this blob of tiny shadow zigzagging like a clown across the street!

It’s a puppy!!! So I went tchuk tchuk tchuking to get her attention. Now normally street puppies or even adult dogs for that matter are quite fearful of strangers, they’d normally go the other direction if you’re coming from one. So if you want to make friends with them, usually it takes a while.

But THIS one!!! This one came BOUNCING herself at my feet! And running herself silly around me in circles while yelping playfully!!! T___T so frigging cute! Sigh~~~

I NEED A DOG LOH! Grr! When ah?

I’ve been considering for the longest time: should I get one before I become prego, or should I get one after we have children?

One before means our children will have a protective family member watching over them (because by then a puppy would’ve grown to be an adult ady and I won't need to fret over taking care of them like they were babies)

One after means our children will have a tiny, cutesy puppy like them to grow up together with!

But Jason thinks we should only get one when I no longer work! T__T Cruelty, I tell you! So all I can think of now is to quit my job! =.=’

Decisions, decisions, decisions! Tsk!

Oh, by the way, I’m not afraid of big dogs anymore! I even dare to touch Uncle Bernard’s dog! Have you seen his dog? Humongous for a puppy! O_O

You know what, maybe I should go stock up some biscuits now lah. Just in case the puppy comes bouncing over tonight!

You think she'll like Tiger’s biscuit better or Jacob’s Weetameal better?

Bukit Tinggi Finale : Stepping Out In Faith

Seriously, mission to be pro-blogger: FAIL lah! -__- Can't even make sure I blog every other day decently haiks!

Life at work is a little crazy and I feel everything - work, social, church, personal life - life in general, is kinda jumbled... in a way. Sometimes I feel as if I'm wayyyy too free that I NEED to be with friends, go out constantly, just BE out, you know; some other times I feel as if life's happening wayyy too fast with too many things going on at the same time I couldn't cope. Why ah! Zzz!

Was supposed to be at my aunt's place for dinner before a meeting, but because of miscommunication and miscalculation of time, I couldn't make it to dinner without being late to the meeting, so ended up Jason went alone. When I came out from the meeting and SMSed my aunt to apologize and thank her for the food (she tapau-ed for me!), she replied back saying "you're welcome. it's not good to take food at odd hours, don't do it so often". And I. just. totally. broke. down =.= Trust me to do things like this. =__='''

Ah yi, this is a bit geli lah I know, but hey, if you're reading this, THANK YOU for everything! (erm of course, hi mom! hi grandma! THANK YOU too for EVERYTHING!!! :D)

Sigh. I *think* I need a holiday.

So let me quickly finish up the last batch of pictures from Bkt. Tinggi so that I can go dream about my next holiday now! Weeee!

---

At 7 in the AM, we were woken up by this...

The Vietnamese are having their morning service/praise and worship

How vibrant! They were all sweating and panting from all the singing and jumping but their spirit was SO high! Everyone was smiling jovially, singing with all their hearts, and dancing like there's no tomorrow in celebration of a God so full of grace, mercy, and love! I was so touched seeing them worshipping without a care of how others would think. I mean, that's how it should be, right? Jesus willingly died on the Cross for us because He so loved us! And yet all we can give is mere lip service, mouthing the songs week in and week out, standing there, refusing to move *shifty eyes* Do we even mean what we sing? Haiks!

I *HEART* BREAKFAST!!!

Coffee *love*, meehoon goreng, sausages, bulls' eyes (so many biji you know! x_x I'm afraid we are now overdosed on hormone zzz no wonder I see Jason is acting a little siss weird lately... must be the eggs hmmm), and uh, cucur bawang, a bit salty and oily, but bad fat happifies you, so a *little* won't hurt. Oh look! My shoe! So cute! Hee!

Chillin' after a big, long burp

We don't take picture together alot. This is one of the few. I like it! Because I look good here! (OK lah! Not bad lah! Quarter of face covered up ady of course boleh pass lah! T_T) p/s Jason is now officially botak! xD

And then the guys went for a dip! Like, a real high deep dip...

Testing the water

Awwwww! Another of my favourtest pictures! And please, that's not me ok. =.=

Dead. Haha!

I think my slippers oozes awesomeness!

Lunch! More Food! <3

Curry chicken, stir-fry vege, omelette (more eggs! mm hmm!), rice, and breakfast leftovers.

Holy posing

Group photo, of course!

This was taken after one last round of prayers and worship. It was raining just before and the view was magnificent! Except, we have the vietnameses who just came back from their workshops totally ignoring us and talking on top of their lungs, and was busy preparing/chopping up fruits for their bonfire at night while we sang our hearts out -_- ZZZZ

---

To be able to spend time with God is a super priviledge. In the name of busyness, we shut Him out and we drown His voice, I'm guilty as charge. But how much He longs to hear from us!

Sure, the first steps are always cold, insecure even. But once you step out and take the plunge, you'll know that He is there to catch you, He is there to envelope you with so much of love and grace, you'll wonder what you've done to deserve it.

He took the first step for us, will you not also take your first step for Him?
