I hate it when people call me LISA when I repeatedly say LEISHIA. I mean, so difficult to pronounce mehh?
LEISHIA. LEI-SHIA. LE-I-SHIA. LEI-SHI-A.
Oh what the heck! Call me Leeshia or Lee Sia even! But LISA?! It's so... character...less O_o
“Hi, who am I speaking to?”
“Leishia”
“OK, LISA,”
-_-
“Hello! What’s your name?”
“Leishia”
“Oh, LISA!”
“It’s Leishia”
“Yes, LISA”
-__-
“Hello. Please find attached the article for your perusal. Regards, Leishia.”
“Thanks LISHA”
-___-
“Hi! I’m Bimbo. And you?”
“Hello. Leishia. Not LISA.”
“Haha! You’re so funny, RACHEL!”
O___-
“Hey there! My name’s Himbo. Here’s my card. What’s your name?”
“Hi Himbo. My name is LeiSHIA.”
“Raysha?”
“LEI SHIA”
“Ah! Haha! Sorry! So can I get you a drink, ALICIA?”
-_______-‘’’
“... Sure… anything!”

Lesson of the day:
__________
Choose a Cina-apek name like Ah lian, Ah keng or Ah siew. Easy for cina-apeks to call you.
You are funny, misha, oops I meant lisa, uurrgghh, I meant sasha.
I so give up..change name please.
*slaps forehead
it's a God given name! hokay! my grandma gave me the name. T_T

better than alvin..a... alvina, dorina, pui pui, lai lai, mei mei. O.o haha!
hai wor... at 1st i wandering how to pronounce ur name .... now i know :)
Trust me, EVERYONE gets my name wrong.
"Esther. E-S-T-H-E-R."
"Mm-hmm, okay... E-A-S-T-E-R."
"No, there's no A, and you forgot the H."
"Oh, right. E-A-S-T-H-E-R"
I get all kinds of freaky names.
Easther
Easter
Oyster
Eester
Ester
Aster
Asster
Eesteen <-- WHERE THE HECK DID THAT COME FROM!?
Eassther
Essther
Esthher
Estherr
Whatever can POSSIBLY go wrong with my name, they get it wrong. And they NEVER, EVER get to spell it right the first time.
I went for an edufair once, and this dumb malay guy from some nursing school out there asked me for my details, and he was writing.
"Okay... Eester...binti?"
I was like... OKAY...
"Eh, you...awak ni, bukan m'layu ke?"
"NO."
"Yeah eh. Ala, muka macam m'layu aje-"
I snatched that paper he was writing on, scrunched it up, flung back his brochures (which were entirely in malay, anyway) and left. XD
*is a bitch* How dare he.
Anyway. If you REALLY want people to get your name right. Call yourself something incredibly easy to remember. And always use the cantonese-tv-show voice, and say in cantonese,
"Hallo? Ngo ga meng giu Apple ah~ Lei hou maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~? *insert bimbotic giggling* Aiyooo, ngo zom mei sek lunchee (new slang word for lunch) ahhhhh~ lei neh?"
Guaranteed to leave a good impression. =___=
Or if you want something more modern, do it like...Candy, or Joy-Joy, or better yet... Lisa. XDDD
But we shall suffer for our beautiful names. hahaha!
I can differentiate Lei-sha and lisa...
but lee sha and lisa are quite similar...
my name...tze yang..is the hardest for the ang mo kau foreginers...it is either I asked them to call me as T Y in short or Z-Young.
Hi L--so you're saying that it's pronounce, LISA?
(smile) ... sometimes people just don't listen.
anggie:
lol apalah!
essie:
LOL girl, u've got attitude man! rock on! hahaha :D
ty:
hey tze yang! yeah! lol ur "tze" is especially hard for the foreign tongue! but i love ur new spelling "z-young"... very hip hoppish! hehe
frank:
ur right. that's exactly the problem, ppl just dun listen, and i'm not talking about names and all. i notice a lot of ppl's just so eager to talk, voicing out their opinions, instead of stop and listen. but that's another post all together! i'll leave that for another day! :)
Tell me about it.
"Hi, my name is Adino"
"HAH?!"
"Not hah, Adino"
"Hi Eddie Loh!"
"Nvm, call me Dino"
"Oh Dino, like the dinosaur"
"Ha. Ha. "
At least I got your name right the very first time I met you....hehe
Adino:
Haha! ur name can be remembered as "I did know!" hehehe
Eric the Thor:
erm... how we met ah? lol
