English 101

Jason and I have always been amazed with how amazing our younger generation (metaphorically speaking only ok? We are not old! :/ and don't be carried away with the word "amaze" there lah! I'm a blogger, remember?), i.e the youths we met/at church, can speak and write so fluently in English, most of the time we are just happy to keep our mouths zipped lest we make some glaring grammatical mistakes and they'll laugh at you, like really, they'll laugh at you. =.=

When they open their mouths, fuh! They speak English like they are uhh… eating taufufa...=_=’ uhhh, so the statement doesn’t make any sense but that’s the point - to show you the difference geddit?! The verboseness of that and this generation. erm OK, whatever. Zzz.

So I’ve been sharing this with the (take a deep breath now) supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Missy Essie, and she says simply that, it’s not difficult, at all!

See the level of confidence? x_x

So anyway, she sums things up and gave me this, life-saver tips:

Apparently, if there’s a certain type of genre/style which you need to adopt in your writing/speaking, think of these statements/questions…

If I want to…

1. Write/talk like a medic student/scientist/psychologist/disciplinarian/kungfu master - ask yourself - "What would Ming Yan do (or not do)?"

2. Write scripts for children/puppet plays - ask yourself - "What would Cerlyn (the cake?) do?"

And I'm adding these myself:
3. Write/talk expressively when I’m really angsty and still make sense - ask yourself - “What would Juju do?”

4. Write/talk like I’m on hyper-, overdrive, or a histrionic - ask yourself - “What would Essie do?”

5. Be totally bombastic bimbotic and a part of every positive adjective to describe (esp. so) yourself - ask yourself - “What would Jap/Jared/LiJen do?” - for no one represents the SS group better than them.

Essentially, this post is just a space filler and noise polluter because I have nothing better to write about (surprise!), but go ahead, you might just give your dead brain a much needed jolt of life by thinking like them, and well, probably save your to-hand-in-today assignment. (well if you don't know them, go make friends lah! Joh!)

(Eh, almost like I'm matchmaking/social profiling for them ah, if liddat, I might as well add in this one here:)

6. If I want to scold gracefully (and have super sunshiny-I-can-make-you-smile smile!) - ask yourself - "what would dohnie do?!!!"

Ah. It’s good to have friends of all kinds so that you can hard-sell them out when you have nothing to write about in your blog, don’t you think?

Looking For Something?

I wish I could say something about the camp, you know - exciting, fun, cool, anything! But I can’t, words just fail me right now, my thoughts are all over the place… desperation, assurance, thirsty, quenched, disappointment, satisfaction, frustration, joy, anxiousness, fear, contentment, abandonment, loved. All over the place.

I really wish I can be honest to the bones with you here, about everything. Or have something flowery to tell you, so that you’ll be boost up, I wish I can talk about it. But I think there are things, like our personal walk with Him, should be left between you and Him, alone.

As honest as I can get, it has been a wild ride. At least I’m learning now what “walking with Him” really, really means. Wow.

“I love you. You are never inferior to anyone. I love you”

He said. And that is all that matters to me.

After Low Tide Is ALWAYS High Tide

I feel a little on the low tide lately. In all, I’ma gonna sum it up and put the blame on work.

And the p.e.o.p.l.e in it. -_-

It’s always the human factor that puts me off balance. Gah! T_T It’s a constant struggle to stay afloat!

But, the fact that it’s a “struggle” is because I’m putting up a fight - a fight to not just stay afloat, physically; but also emotionally and spiritually. It’s seriously tough esp when you have a family to juggle with, and to think I don't even have kids to worry about now! Working married women (with kids - optional), how do you do it?! :(

But I’m just not about to kowtow to any sort of negative thinking and let them drown me! >(

Submit. Submit. Submit! Submit all your plans, and wills, and thoughts, and you, to Him.

Because only when I’m weak, He is strong.

Enough about this low tide rubbish! High tide is coming real soon! Gotta get ready for it because….

CHURCH CAMP IS A-COMING!!!!!!!!!

*excitingness*

!!!!!

And that’s tomorrow! Can you believe it?! Tomorrow we’ll be off to Port Dickson for our church camp and some high tide fun! Although… I’m not a big fan of Port Dickson with all its slimy and shady waters, but I digress!

It’s 4 full days of time away from the office and instead, spent with your favouritest people in the world!!!!! - church members. lol

Hehe. But yes lah, very favourite lah. Don’t you love your church members? Don’t you, don’t you don’t you huh huh huh? LOL

(don’t mind me please. I’m de-stressing T_T)

Church camp goodness aside. There will be a theatre production right after we all come back from the camp - the following weekend - entitled “Revive!”

Come join us (peiling! Yes?)! And watch Jason acting as satan!!! our multi-talented youths doing what they do best on stage!

P/S Autograph session can be arranged at the end of the play. lol

So stop hesitating (it’s free admission lah)! Just come! =) omg I'm so kancheong! :/breathleishiabreath!relaxjustrelaxit'llbejustfine!trustGod!justbreathpleaseholeishia!T_T

Our Life Thus Far

... in Puchong is awesome!

First off, it feels like a house, no more rest house and hotels and whatchapacallit. When we reach home, we actually feel like we are going back home. Tu comprends?

Secondly, it’s so much closer to church and our social life in Subang/Sunway. We can actually stay to make friends and have decent conversation as compared to rushing home with heavy eyelids after every night-time event, especially in church!

Thirdly, we’ve been out and about making friends! Our social circle is expanding like nobody’s business for the past 2 weekends I’ma gonna explode due to too much excitement!

Oh and lookie what I / we did for the past 2 weekends!

First (this post is all about listing, yes -_-)
Played an INSTRUMENTAL ROLE (read: UTTERLY IMPORTANT) in (force) bringing a blog to life. (Insert obligatory blog-pimping act) Check him out here. Oh and the new-born blogger says "only single ladies are welcomed" -_- Cis! The ungratefulness!

Secondly
Eh wait. What I did last Sunday ah? …. Shucks. I forgot. Zzz.

Thirdly
Had dinner with the 3 boys AND hung out at the car park watching clips after clips of Ana Ivanodunnowatvic bouncing on the field (apparently it's a tennis) court on Dohnie’s lappy (because he made us to!) AND actually stayed for ICE CREAM! 2 friggin’ pints of ice cream baby! Next time, we should get an entire pint of BR’s Rum Raisin, like this we won’t need to fight.

Classic line of the evening:
Jason: She’s very elegant (referring to Ana Ivanodunnowatvic).
Dohnie: ELEGANT! YES! YES! *drools all over*
Leishia: Classy
Dohnie: AH YES! ELEGANT AND CLASSY! (you should see him man. That smitten face! Fuh!)
Jap: *lying on the car hood, looking forlornly into the night sky, acting like so left out, and whispered sadly* then what am I?
Dohnie: O_o *an abrupt change from smitten to a confused and disgusted face*

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH that just cracks me up man! THEN WHAT AM I???? Dude! That's what you are! LOLLLLL AWWWW Kesiannya!!!! Someone's heart's broken!

Fourthly
Crazy enough to agree to a midnight movie at Pyramid (on the eve of a public holiday. Without making bookings x_x) only to be told that all seats for all movies are gone. That’s the shortest trip I’ve ever made to a shopping mall in my entire life - 15 minutes tops.

Fifthly
So instead of movies, we hung out (see! More hanging out!!!) at a mamak nearby and had honey naan, mee goreng, mixed grill, satay, and jumbo sour sop juice! By the time we finished, it’s almost 1am I think (staying out late without curfew!!!! Whoo hoo!!!! If I’m dreaming please please please don’t wake me up! T__T).

JeeJin was nice enough to point out that we can actually go home to Puchong without paying toll and that he’s willing to show us the way, right then! O_O shocking-est news ever! The part where we can skip the toll lah.

And the lovebirds - Jap and Dohnie - were clapping hands in glee in view of a possible “road trip”. There’s something fascinating about going out in the middle of night I tell ya! Everybody loves it!

Sixthly (It's this never gonna end -_- lol)
It’s true! It’s true! There’s actually a way to skip the toll!!!!! Oh yay! So happy! When we reached home, we actually showed our dear friends around the house (at ONE IN THE MORNING YOU HEAR ME?! I'ma just gonna hyperventilate and die here! Excitingness!!!), and sat down on the sofa for random and short but good conversations!

Seventhly
Took Irene’s invitation for Prince Caspian at Summit on Monday; not exactly up to expectations, the movie, but the company was great! Had pizza for dinner (the joint actually carries our magazines!) and made a ruckus in the restaurant, oh and made a new friend! Hello Jamie! I like your accent! :)

And the proudest moment - I pointed out my back and feet which was *ahem* featured on the magazine to the gang! Can you spot me in this month’s issue? xD

Syiok sendiri-ness! xD xD xD I’m beyond help! But just typing this entry already makes me excited all over! L.O.L

The Day My Husband Thinks I've Achieved Kitchen Divahood

Inspired /ahem by anggie, I’m gonna blog about my success story (finally) in the kitchen.

I erm, made lamb stew.

First, you nick a simple recipe from somewhere, anywhere!
Then you take your time to collect and compile the ingredients from markets, hypermarkets, your mom's house etc.
Then you take a day’s leave off work and rise early to cut up the ingredients. (I hate animal blood T_T)
Then you may go back to sleep.
Then you wake up again and stare at the clock to decide which hour of the day is good to start stewing.
Then you take out your slow cooker (kitchen saviour T_T I heart you slow cooker!), dust it, clean it, worship it. Whatever suits you.
When your perfect hour comes, take out all your ingredients, dunk it all in to the pot (ok lah, be a bit more graceful, “layer” the ingredients in lah if you will =.=)
And then you turn the cooker on and you let it cook.
And then you just sit pretty and wait to be praised! :)

How do I define success, you ask? Easy. When the husband kept raving about it for 3 days in a row, that, my friends, is success.

OK, by raving I mean he kept talking about how tender the mutton was and that that was the most tenderest mutton he’d ever had his entire life and no mamak stall on earth can beat my mutton and it was really good! Not just good, but GOOD good. So good he was crying when he was eating it! (I'm not kidding! What do I look like I'm not capable of making people cry with my awesome cooking?! Huh?! >/)

I just smiled demurely and nodded along and peppered my thank-yous in a lady-like manner.

OF COURSE I DIDN’T TELL HIM SLOW COOKER CAN SOFTEN ANY TOUGH CUTS OF MEAT LAH! ARE YOU CRAZY?! T___T

Eh, come to think of it, he raves because the meat was tender, not that it TASTED nice or something... O_-

Sigh.

So now yes. If he tells you his wife makes kick ass lamb stew, just agree with him and pretend you're awed damnit!

Yeah Lah! Yeah Lah! I Know How To Spell Stupid Lah!

To Jason a.k.a The Husband,

To save you energy and time and loads of guess work, I’ve already decided what I want for my 2009 birthday! I know right! Such an understanding wife!

A trip to Bangkok!

Specifically to Chatuchak! Thank you so much dear!!!

=D

Love,
The wife you said you love so very much

p/s How do you like mutton curry for dinner... erm... one of these days? Heh.

See! Easy peasy! I’m so easy to please I amaze myself!

xxx

I missed my company trip this year (in fact I’ve never been on any company trips! :( yes, my companies, previous and current, are cheena like that), on purpose -_-.

I missed it, simply because I thought why bother going when the reason my company bring us there is so that we’ll help them “carry” products through the custom so that they won’t need to be taxed so much (you get what I’m saying? -_-).

Oh, btw, every year, our company trip is only to Chatuchak, Bangkok. /swt

Plus if I were to go with Jason then we’ll have to fork out money for 1 extra pax. Plus my passport expired. Plus I was so full of myself thinking “Hmph! What’s the big deal about Bangkok woh? The weather’s so hot some more! No thank you lah!” Think also didn’t think I declined the offer ady -__- why am I so stupid!

Stupid never mind. Mah bear the consequences only lah, hor? :’(

So, bearing the consequences I am now loh. :'( :'(

I was lamenting to Jason and then you know what he said?! >(

“Ala go lah! You should go what! Who ask you to bring me along woh?”

-__________- See lah! My husband! Then if I don't count him in he'll emo with me pulak!

My colleague went and came back, like yesterday, and yerrrrr bought so many things and on top of that, all meals paid for!!! I was googling for Chatuchak and people’s loot from the market earlier before the trip and I tell you!!! HOW CAN I FORGIVE MYSELF FOR FORGOING A FREE CHANCE TO BANGKOK! Some more when my colleagues (actually the whole office only 2 persons plus 1 boss plus boss’ daughter went only) were out cruising Bangkok streets, we cows were working our you-know-what off in the office (I got underage readers -_- cannot be too free to exercise my vocab skill.Gah!).

LE SIGH!!!

So, OK Jason a.k.a The Husband? =D We go in January ya? But we're gonna have to pay ourselves :(

Any takers? Mai lah pergi beramai-ramai! Baru syiok! Think of it as…

… A getaway... to “Celebrate the birth of Leishia!”

/soh genius! See! Found you an excuse to travel!

Eh, but I’m serious ok! Save up money now and we go! OK? Oh can’t wait! :))))

You're My Hero!!!

… when you thickened your skin to do the Bic Mac chant and got me a free Big Mac! *heart*heart*heart*

Free Big Mac!!! I love free stuff! /shameless sial =_=

After days of begging to have McD for dinner, Jason - a hardcore non-junk food (to be defined) freak - finally crumbled and gave in to this poor, fast-food deprived wife. Ya, he thinks fast food is junk food, slow food is not. But he doesn’t consider Ramly burger as junk food because it’s made slowly. So basically if hamburgers are made slowly, then it’ll fall out of the junk food category. Automatically. -_-

Anyway I was so kancheong when he jumped up and declared he will “be your hero once again and get you a Big Mac, my damsel in distress!” =.= So I made him practiced so many times until he got frustrated and threatened not to join T_T why my husband liddat wan!

And then when I finally let him go, the cashiers all went in and out of the office/kitchen/counters/premise looking for a stopwatch! -_______- so in the end we offered them to use our handphone’s stopwatch. So nice of us. For not letting us join the competition on the ground of not having a stopwatch at the time, they will have to compensate us a lifetime of hamburgers! .... O_O eh wait! Then why lah we so stupid go offer them our stopwatch?! T____T

Whatever lah, as long as I get my free Big Mac! Ooo, gembiranya hati aku! xD *explode into a million pixels*

Oh if you don’t know yet, Uncle Ronald is running this little competition - purchase any McValue Meal and get a coupon. With the coupon, go to McD counters and do the chant (phrases are printed on the coupon or visit here), if you can do it under 4 seconds, congratulations, you just save yourself from spending on one meal!

Better yet, make a video of yourself doing the chant as creative as you can and you stand a chance to win RM10, 000. Cool right?! Go check out the link lah! Just make sure after you win, don’t forget me because I’ve played an instrumental role in making you rich! *sad song playing*

xxx

We’ve officially moved over to Puchong! Now we just need to get rid of the final coating of dust on the floor and you are most welcomed to come thrash the house. But don’t think you can walk out of the house alive without first cleaning it up ok! This is my strategy to clean the house weekly:

Welcome you --> you thrash house --> you clean up --> house get cleaned --> happy leishia

Your support is much appreciated!

xxx

On the first of May Irene Lim came helped to wash the house, and by wash I mean using a hose to hose down the entire house (Jason’s idea of cleaning) and then kept getting electrocuted -_-

We are so gamdong lah this Irene Lim, put aside her entire day and the fact that she’s had leg surgery done earlier and insisted to help us! T_T

“Irene ah. It’s ok lah. We can manage”
“NO! YOU COME PICK ME UP I TELL YOU! I ALREADY BOOKED MY CALENDAR TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE ONE MONTH AGO OKAY!!!!” *the ground shook*
*trembling* “yes ma’am…”

And then also there’s JeeJin, Jap, Jared, Aaron, and Lai San! Though you guys were only mesmerised with and interested in the floor polishing machine (and actually had fun riding it until it got overheat -_-) but still thank you so very much lah, climbed so high to lap tingkap and stuff. If not for you all, I would’ve to stay up till 3am just doing that. T_T

As for me, I’m really satisfied with the house. Earlier I thought by moving to a landed house means I won’t get my daily exercise (We lived on the third floor previously and I was pleased with my "steps" exercise regime), manatau, I exercise more than ever here! To get one item we have to run up and down the stairs to find it -_- But yeah lah, I’m not complaining! Heh.

Now, the next thing to look into is! Jeng jeng jeng! Getting a dog dog DOG!!!! :D

*so happy can die 4 times!* xD xD xD

To add to my happiness, my ed just informed me of a press screening of jeng jeng jengx2!!!! THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA 2: PRINCE CASPIAN this Monday! SOH HAPPY I'M CRYING T_T!! How nice if everyday also like this!

p/s must get Jason to do the chant at McD counter again tonight! *wiggle in pure excitement* xD

Been There. Done That T_T

Remember the time I had a stupid doctor sweeping a rat out of his clinic and slapped into my legs as I was walking by? (Yeah yeah the post is some where in archive, go look for it. I lazy -_-)

Well hey this time around, guess what I got.

Just guess lah T_T

No one gets it better than me T__T

A FREAKING FATSO CATERPILLAR IN MY WANTON MEE!!!!! All plump and juicy and wriggled up in my wanton mee!!!!!!!! T____________T

Yay! NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY?????????? WHY LIDDAT WAN?!!!!!!!!!

Puchong! Is that how you welcome your new resident?!!!!!!! >(

My Funky Pup Is Now 3!

When you first came
I had to skip and walk on sofas
just to avoid all furry contact with you

I was icky like that
But then you look every bit an angel
God must’ve spent a little more time on you
How cheesy but it’s true
Looking so serene in your baby naps

I couldn’t resist it
And I gingerly stretched a finger on your sleepy head
It didn’t feel too bad
So out went another finger
And another, and another

I was like a proud mom
When I managed to hold you in my arms
It was such a monumental moment
That you were in my arms
I was shrieking and jumping in joy
And I intend it to be that way
Forever and ever, to have and to hold
If only it can be so
Your presence at home three years ago
Had ease so much of tension
And brought so much of joy
You thought us that there are more things in life
Than problems, tears, and silly wars
You thought us how to laugh, to love, to be a dotting parent
And who would’ve thought, you thought us life
Now that you are a grand old age of three
All grown up and… crazily furry, we must say
We are so proud of your achievements -
Stop chewing shoes altogether is one of it :)
HAPPY WOOFDAY BIG OLD GIRL!
May you have a happy, long, and prosperous life
as how you’ve brought us so much of joy,
We don’t even know where to start counting
So happy birthday it is lah, I wish you in its truest sense
Here’s my tiny present for you,
A little dedication with a silly doodling poem
Have a great time kicking ass at home
Just make sure you don’t trip grandma over, ok?

There’s Always A Lesson To Learn. Somewhere.

For guys, because it works, these lines, only to a certain extend though. Copy at your own risks.

She: Hey dear, when you die, do you want to be buried or cremated?
He: Anything lah! I don’t mind. Whichever way that is convenient to you.
She: Really? O_o *owh! My hero!*
He: But if I have a choice, I’ll get people to dig up your grave so that I may be put together with your deceased body when I die.
She: =_= so I still die first lah. Some more dig up my grave, die also no peace. zzz.
He: Eh! No lah! I’m just being romantic mah. Not romantic meh, liddat? Die die also must be together, regardless you die first or not! See! I’m so sweet!
She: -___________- of course.

While girls, well just don’t ask (too many) stupid questions. (But not stupid mah! This question stupid meh?! It's important what!)

It's Addictive Like That

Fooh! I’ve finished reading Amy Tan’s Saving Fish From Drowning! *syiok*

But actually no lah, not exactly syiok. You know the sense of lost? Like, “OOOO kayyy so now what?” after you come to the end of every book? Yeah. That.

Incidentally, today’s actually World Book Day! Do you know that since 1925 in Catalonia, a woman would give books as gifts to her lover who presented her with roses? Regardless that’s really the case or not, I thought that was really, really sweet! I just love books! Don’t you? Books and reading are just so sexy! Yum!

Did I tell you before that my sister and I would pester my dad to bring us to MPH warehouse sales in Jalan 223 every year to sapu books for keeps?

Oh how we love books. Back then, warehouse sales means WAREHOUSE SALES. Everything going cheap, cheap, cheap! Imported magazines would cost like RM1.00 and boy were they beautiful! All glossy and colourful! *heart* And the books! Glorious books! Best sellers were going for five, ten, twenty bucks. And alot were hard covers! It was that cheap! I have a rather impressive collection of John Grisham’s books and the Anne of Green Gables series! And because of those sales, I was introduced to the American classic - To Kill A Mockingbird - a beautiful, beautiful story, I tell you. I read until I cried! T__T You just have to read it!

But now warehouse sales really just means sell more reading materials and toys in the warehouse.

Sigh.

And why are books so expensive anyway? How to encourage reading? -_- The last book I splurged on was Marley and Me, which set me back about thirty three bucks and got me crying for days on end (the story lah!) But I really couldn’t resist it (the splurging lah! Tsk). I mean, it’s a real story about a dog, people! If anything, dogs are a gift from the heavens! Besides potatoes.

How I wish I can write like those people. One word strings another, one sentence flows to another, weaving stories is like breathing to the writers!

Sigh.

So now what? No more saving fish from drowning (which by the way, is stunning, you should read it also, really. Amy Tan. Read.). What genre do you read (yes, besides porn)? Indulge me! Recommend me some titles, yes please?

Of Getting Lost (Esp On Malaysian Roads) & Found

Just a simple thought I’d like to keep here as a self-reminder or sort. A thought which came to me some really long time ago, and then it keeps coming back again, and again, and again. Yeah, a reminder.

In less than half a month’s time I’ll be moving out from where I am living now, that means no more “long distance” driving to and fro work, a yay for me, definitely, but it’ll be Jason’s turn to do the long distance thing, haha.

When I drive, my mind tends to swing and sway, not in any weird way -_- but around mundane things… like, what’s for breakfast/lunch/dinner ah? Ooo, nasi lemak sounds good but tsk, so fattening lah! Man I so want charp fan right now O_o! YES! I want charp fan for lunch! I want uh, cheekin (ooo naish!) and, and vinegared pork knuckle sauce oh yummy say, by the way when will I be an entrepreneur? Will I ever be one in the first place? How does it feel to work from home ah? Gee when can I execute that plan? Oh hey I love it when my ed praises me about my write up teehee! I mean who doesn’t huh? HAHAHA silly and hey my boss was really nice to me today! *paranoid* oh mannn not. good. thing! O_O

You know, THAT sorta things. One thought races to another. Try it. Really cool.

There are also times when I’m reminded of good things, of course. Good things like my baby Polly (her birthday’s this month end! Think I should throw a surprise party for her? Hehe), like Jason when he plans his trips around my schedule so that I get to follow him on short trips *hearts*! Like when my grandma cooks all the good food for us! Like the random guy on the street who sang that "...suicidal, suicidal..." song to me :*) And like this one here…

So we were on the highways to some states for Jason’s regional training sessions, and we have no idea where to exit, which turn to take, and how far it will be, just taking things as it comes. Me being the paranoid me, I’ll be so kancheong about missing the exits, having to pay hefty toll prices, having to waste all the time when in fact we could’ve taken an easier way out, and all these crazy thoughts that will drive the driver (i.e Jason) nuts (seriously I'm not so bad in real life lah, really wan! =D)

And then I realized our life is exactly like our journey on the highways to foreign places, places we are not familiar with. We KNOW our destination, We've got the BIG picture, but somehow somewhere along, we’ll miss a turning here and there because some driver prefers not to listen to the passenger! Zzz =.= We’ll lose our bearings and end up in some random place, we’ll run out of petrol and into some mechanical problems, we'll have to pay the price (i.e toll! $@#$%) for silly mistakes we make, people like me will be paranoid because I don’t see where the heck I’m going! Annoying!

My view is confined to the one right before my eyes, shielded by the windshield. No handbooks, no maps, no nothing. Just me, and the options of the left/right indicator lights, go straight anyway or U-turn (man sometimes you won't even find a U-turn! How annoying is that?!)

Only if I get to see from the sky, I would’ve gotten a clearer view of every road and where each and everyone of them will lead me to. I’ll be able to link up the dotted lines from point A to point B. It'll be peanuts!

Alas, I do not have the luxury. La vie n’est jamais comme ça. But the funny thing is, somehow no matter how lost we’d get, we tend to find the way back on track, just like how no matter where and how you hide, if God wants you there, you'll be there, sooner or later. It’s amazing no? Well I find it amazing.

We’ll go around like some hopelessly lost ants, banging up walls here and there, getting lost; not knowing exactly the directions, but God sees it from above! He knows exactly our location and bearings, to the exact dot, He knows exactly where we are headed, and the most perfect thing is, He knows how to guide us back on track (uhh, just sometimes He'll be joker and let us get lost a bit lah, because we human very the ego, we gotta get bruised before seeking help). He’s watching from the sky! We are like little battery-operated tiny lego people! He can just take us out from the scene in a snap of a finger but that’s another story for another day.

That’s life. I guess.

If only we can be less stubborn and more willing to allow Him to take over the steering wheel. Life will be so much less miserable, yes no?

I know I know I’m beating round the bush, a lil (ok, a lot lah! Somebody teach me what’s a full stop whatever buhbye =.=) and I’m not even sure I’m making my point! I Think I Didn't Really Answer The Question...

McD Brekkie kicked my ass. Burp.

~~~
Hi Peiling! *flashes biggest smile* Here’s your tag… for Chinese New Year =D I was thinking maybe I should keep the tag for next year’s CNY, but then again, maybe not. Hehe. Cute photo subjects shouldn’t be kept waiting.
So Ling says,
1. You must take photos with a Chinese New Year theme (somewhat like a photo essay).
The photos cannot be posed for.
2. It can contain living or non-living things, anything lah.
3. Must have some quality a bit lah, cannot simply snap pics of red packets, mandarin oranges or something. Precious moments during family chats/dinners is one example.
4. Minimum ten photos. Uh, a bit cannot lah. One can ah?
5. Post your bloglink here and link this post after you have blogged it.
6. It has to be blogged latest Feb 21 (last day of CNY). - WOOPSIES.
7. Lasty, spread the word (don’t forget to post the links here and link this post)! Let’s all have fun snapping away!
There. The picture was taken during CNY obviously, the bunch of us cousins were hanging out over tea while Polly was caught scheming how to reach *that* bebola merah hanging on those pussy willows by either jumping or begging. Either way, she was no where near success. If you haven’t noticed, it was a reflected image of us and Polly on a huge ass mirror we have at home. Why am I explaining the obvious? -_-
So anyway complying with rule number 7, I’m supposed to spread the word but since CNY is like, way over, let me invent a new theme for you snappy-happy people.
My favouritest shopping place McD Brekkie SPREADING LOVE IS THE NEW BLACK
Do whatever you want and express the theme through photos. Uh, the general rules are based on Peiling’s lah! When you’re done, drop me the link in my comment box to make me happy!
Let’s get the love spread-ed by:
Vicky (more reasons for you to snap and blog!)
Jap (I brewed the love, it’s now the time you spread the love)
Cerlyn (take it as a practice to hone your photog skills lah)
Donny (uh, donny… tsk, what can I say? Start a blog already. Zzz. You're the only one I can't hyperlink to =.=')
Ming Yan & Esther! (Because you guys are semi pros and ought to be... not so grey)
Alvin Boey! (Erm, you like to take lame photos of yourself right?)
And uh, consider yourself tagged lah! :
A Simple Take On Love
DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?
During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, 'How do I know if I married the right person?'
I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, 'It depends. Is that your husband?' In all seriousness, she answered 'How do you know?'
Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind.
Here's the answer. EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse/partner. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behaviour/habit).
Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called 'falling' in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.
People in love sometimes say, 'I was swept off my feet.' Think about the imagery of that expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.
Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts.
The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.
At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, 'Did I marry the right person?' And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfilment.
Extramarital fulfilment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances.
But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could.
And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later. Because (listen carefully to this):
THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND.
SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't 'find' LASTING love. You have to 'make' it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression 'the labour of love - because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.
Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.
Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable… you can 'make'
love.
Love in marriage is indeed a 'decision'... Not just a feeling.
Remember this always:
'God determines who walks into your life. It is up to YOU to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.'
Jason sent me this and I thought I’d share. If only we are more realistic with the erm, mechanisms of relationship/marriage, or maybe should I say, look at relationship/marriage from a different light, maybe, just maybe divorce won’t be such a happening word…
Blast From Past
Then
Now
Check ‘em out. My boys all grown up! *tears* lol so cool lah. I have like, most of their albums I think. I would saved up all my money, and then on Sunday, after dinner at Chan Kee, dad would usually bring us either to the then Taman Tun Jaya Jusco or the Damansara Parkson/Atria - the most happening places in the whole wide PJ! And then I would run all the way to the music department, and then ooh-ed and ahh-ed at those NKOTB and Debbie Gibson albums, and then hyperventilate and die and then hyperventilate some more. Yeah, so old-school fans style right?! My biggest dilemma then was to decide to put my money on which album, but that depended on what free gifts that came with the cassette. I *think* I still have that huge ass NKOTB poster somewhere. And that poster file, oh and that calendar! And the stickers, and then there’s another poster…
I learnt how to sing from them wan you know! Step 1! You can have lotsa fun! Step 2! There’s so much we can do! Step 3! It’s just you and me! Step 4! I can give you more! Step 5! Don’t you know that the time has arrived~~~ Hooh!
Joh I’m so shameless x_x
~~~

For those of you who smsed me sending your condolences ( O.o what the?!) in regard my previous post about the record button, uh, thank you. I actually do really appreciate your concern, but you all very canggih lah, instead of leaving comment (free!), SMS pulak -_- but thank you lah, I felt all warm and fuzzy inside when I read those smses, only to be followed by a sudden panic attack because I was being reminded about the record button. T__T

~~~
Life has been a little all over the place lately, have been sticking my hands in various so-called projects, both at work and off work.
Important woman at work. Agree or die >(
We are moving end of this month! And we haven’t even started packing yet! But we should have like 3 main holiday trips this year! W00ts! Wait, later have to go jot it down in my planner, just so to syiok sendiri :D
Surprised dinner!
Bye bye Bangi! It was good while it lasts.
Oh last week we went to JB! And I bought this lovely cocktail dress which I so love. But alas, Jason threatened me to sell it off or he would wear it :( that would be cool though lol. No lah. I bought it cos I really, really like it, but since I hardly wear dresses so I’m gonna sell it off and spread some love, better than keeping it in my wardrobe and grow mushroom right.
Here’s a picture of it, very blur, sorry, the days of my camera are numbered (hello new camera!).
Remind me of the Flintstones
The versatile dress is of a classy royal blue; super soft and light weight yet slinks perfectly; it fits beautifully and you can see the drapes and cuts as you move without looking over-expose, or slutty -_-. Super comfortable too! I love the dress T_T le sigh. It’s brought in from Hong Kong in limited quantity (I was told that they only brought in one piece lah but lets just take it with a pinch of salt). I’m letting it go at RM80.00. T_T I think retail price is around RM129.90 or higher.
If you’re interested let me know, I’ll show it to you, but if you’re outstation or whatever, I’ll get my photog to take better and more detailed pictures for you.
~~~

I had a lot in mind to write here but whaddayanoe, I forgot. Heh. oh yeah! I got a voucher to a spa session and I gave it to Jason and then he approved my spending for spas now on, provided I bring him along =_= haha.

~~~
It’s been a while. How have you been? :)
The Record Button Was Friggin' Pushed Damnit!
I am so dead. -_-
So dead -_-
I was the stand-in video-man at an event my company organized.
Long story cut short.
The part where the VIP spoke (the one where I killed my arm by sticking it up holding the camera) plus the launch where they dramatically dropped the huge ass black cloth?
Yeah. It’s not in the video. Like, NOT FRIGGING RECORDED. O_o
I swear I recorded it. I mean, how would you explain my dead arm, right? My arm is now limp, dead, de-oxygenized, and yeah, the shade of purple. -_- Good thing I'm a left hander
But I’m dead, regardless, be it left or purple. -_-
I’m. so. dead. =_=
Can send me a template for resignation letter? :(
Making Random Waves
LOL so dumb lah the cat! Nicely summarising our Cat & Dog seminar over the weekend! Kill the cat be the dog! HAHAHA I like!
So I had a bit of omg-my-life-has-come-to-an-end-lets-cry-my-balls-eye-balls-out moment over the weekend. But thank God for that, I’ve FINALLY put off my procrastinator habit and went for a much needed perm and colour (and then I put it back on again -_-)!
After like, 3 long years. omg I missed those curls T__T! You simply have no idea how my life quality dropped when I did a stupid thing in the name of rebonding T__T I looked like…. nothing. I’ve been reduced to NO.THING and I was a few hundred bucks poorer. And traumatised. And 2D. For one year.
=_='
So the waves are back baby! *big goofy smile*
OK, bimbo talks aside, this blog shall return to its random-self again now that the whole political awareness campaign *ahem* dramatic episode is settling down (I sure hope! Unless some goblok rakyat rep do or say something stupid and make me angwee, I’ll switch mode >( Take this as a warning! *squint eyes wrinkle forehead thump heart*)
I’m so happy for my curls! Now I just need to wash it out a bit to de-tense the curls. Oh curls I love curls! *_*
Next! Sweep-shop all the malls! lol I kid I kid my dear husband! haha
When In Doubt, Take A Chill Pill (Update)
Just after I’ve blogged the previous post last night from some kopitiam, we reached home just in time to receive 2 SMSes of the same content - that the Perak Sultan had chosen a Chinese MB and that the Pas are protesting violently. Please pray.
I mean, yes lets pray. But hey, chill first, will y’all? This piece of news is not even valid news! So please stop forwarding this sort of SMSes before confirming its authenticity, and create unnecessary scare in people. If you need any sort of reference, you have Malaysiakini and Malaysia Today - both a reliable source, the same I wouldn’t say about our local newspapers though :/ but oh well they are still a source of news, no matter how skewed, so by all means, check with them, too!
Stop instilling fear in the people at sensitive times like this. Instead, give our newly elected representatives some time to sort things out (when you're entrusted with a new project in your company, you'll want your colleagues and bosses to give you time, right?), trust in the wisdom of the states’ rulers, and above all else, have faith in God!
So what lah if Perak puts a Malay MB? If that’s stated in the law, and by doing so will make the people feel better, then so be it!
And so what if Perak puts a Chinese or Indian for an MB? Should the Chinese and Indian community feel more superior over it? Or should our Malay friends feel threatened by it? ? Don’t forget no matter if you’re an MB or DMB or CM or DCM, you are still very much accountable to the people. You’re NOT the boss.
The point here is, as long as one can govern with utmost integrity and take care of the people’s welfare, what difference does our skin colour matter? And besides, have you forgotten why you voted for them in the first place? Because we don’t want to be segregated according to our race anymore! We all want to be a Malaysian in its truest sense for once! So try to ditch that racial mentality already and look at the big picture!
I’m just so mad to see all these hearsays flying around, and to add on to that, our friends in BN and the media are really rubbing it in, showing power, giving their useless 2 cents that intends to spur nothing but unrest and fear in the people, and to make us regret voting for the oppositions. (-_- eh, please lah, we are not stupid ok?)
For one the oppositions are not crazy people that go around bullying the rakyat and eat up small children. They are just everyday, normal family men and women that are passionate about fighting for the people’s right. The difference between us and them is, they put their passion into action and go out to the field and fight. So the least we can do is to discern the rights from the wrongs and give our support wisely!
Ok. I’m getting really naggy. But that’s only because I’m so angry! >(
We’ve come this far since 8th March 2008, let us all keep our heads up, hold our patience high, see and digest news and things maturely, exercise self control, and most importantly, remember your CHILL PILL, DUDE! =)
/shameless caffeine endorsement starts/
Ahhh~ San Francisco Mocha Extreme. Life is good again. <3>
TAK NAK!
Please take a minute to read this:
(source)
DAP has duped voters, says Ka Chuan
IPOH: The DAP has revealed its “true face” to the people by cooperating with PAS to form the next state government, Perak MCA chief Datuk Ong Ka Chuan said. “All this while, the DAP has been denying that it is working with PAS when they sought the support of the Chinese community in Perak during the campaigning period,” he said.
“After getting their votes, the DAP is doing otherwise,” he said yesterday when commenting on the new ruling coalition government of the DAP, PKR and PAS.
The DAP, he said, should apologise to the voters for having duped them about not working together with PAS when wooing them before the just-concluded polls.
Ong, who is also the MCA secretary-general, said the DAP might even go to the extent of allowing a PAS leader to be the new Mentri Besar.
“How are they going to explain to the Chinese community? The DAP had not been honest right from the start,” he asked.
The DAP should have told the community right from the beginning that they were cooperating with PAS so that the voters would be able to make a wise decision at the ballot box, he said.
“Now the DAP is doing otherwise. I feel sad that the situation has become like this,” he added.
“The people gave the DAP their trust and this is how the DAP is repaying them – by working with an Islamist party,” said the newly-elected Tanjong Malim MP.
Please take another minute to read this:
New Perak MB by end week
The DAP-PKR-PAS coalition has submitted an official list of candidates to Perak Sultan Azlan Shah.
The list was handed over to the Sultan’s secretary at 2pm today by a tripartite
delegation, and the Ruler is expected to make an announcement within the next two days.
At a joint press conference, DAP chairperson Ngeh Khoo Ham confirmed that each party has submitted one name.
They are Ngeh himself who is Sitiawan assemblyperson, Pasir Panjang assemblyperson Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin and PKR’s Behrang assemblyperson Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi.
“All three parties have unanimously agreed that we will fully endorse the Sultan’s
choice,” said Ngeh, speaking for coalition.
He stressed that, irrespective of the Sultan’s choice, the new coalition government will make decisions collectively.
“We therefore call upon party supporters from all three parties to fully support the new menteri besar,” he said
Asked why three names had been submitted - instead of the coalition settling for one
nominee - Ngeh replied that the decision was made based on various aspects of the state constitution.
Complex circumstances
Under the state constitution, the menteri besar has to be a Malay Muslim, but there is a provision that allows the Sultan to waive the requirement.
None of the 18 DAP elected representatives are Malay Muslim, even though the party controls the most number of seats in the new state government.
It is learnt that the three of seven Malay Muslim PKR assemblypersons were ruled out as they are deemed not to have suitable paper qualifications.
This makes Mohamad Nizar, 51, the frontrunner as he has academic credentials and ranks high in the PAS Perak hierarchy.
Observers have noted that the three parties cannot automatically nominate Mohamad Nizar for the post, or the DAP would suffer severe political repercussions.
DAP has vehemently rejected PAS’ conservative religious agenda in favour of a secular ‘Malaysian Malaysia’ and had even left the PAS-PKR Barisan Alternatif coalition in protest in 2001.
In each general election, however, DAP has worked out a seat-distribution formula with PKR to avoid three-corner fights.
I felt angry, disappointed, and to quote Ka Chuan, "duped", by the news when I first read it in The Star. But after understanding the real picture from the 2nd article, I now understand the reasons behind the move.
Same issue, 2 different approaches in reporting. Now you understand why we say mainstream media is one-sided and misleading? And this is only one out of the many, many others being published.
Say "TAK NAK!" to rubbish news! >(
MALAYSIANS, YOU HAVE MADE IT!
THANK YOU! Thank you for believing in your own judgement, for believing in the power of your one vote, for believing in the power of unity, for rising to the occasion and putting your foot down for a change, for not fearing our ministers’ various threats about May 13 and political unrest should we vote them out, for believing in makkal sakthi - people’s power! We’ve made it! YOU have made this possible!!!! THANK YOU MALAYSIANS! THANK YOU *bows*
Like I’m contesting liddat -____-
Anyway! :) I’m so happy!!! And touched T__T 2/3 denied! I can't believe after 50 years! We're finally coming closer to grasping the idea of democracy, albeit slowly. It's gonna be interesting from now on. The country's leader's gonna have to be always on their toes, making sure they do their job, be it oppositions or the ruling party. I'm feeling more like a Chinese Malaysian Malaysian now :)
P/s Let us all be calm and cool amidst all the joy and excitement and not give anyone any reasons to find fault and declare any sort of emergency/martial law/whatyouhave. Don't provoke and be provoked. We've shown them our power, let us also show them our maturity and self-control at all times! This is only the beginning, and it's gonna be a long journey for all! So let us all walk closely and together in this!
EC Chairman Sees Red
(source)
Election Commission head has felt the backlash of a decision against the use of indelible ink - vandals splashed the outside of his house with bright red paint early this morning.
Kesiannya.
LOL
Abdul Rashid also responded to questions on the reversal of the decision.
Malaysiakini: Weren’t you aware of the law?
Abdul Rashid: We were aware of the legal requirements, but we thought that it wasn’t so bad and that we could overcome it. But (it) looks like we can’t. And on advice of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, we decided to cancel it.
You see, we wanted to use the ink. We really did but the legal restrictions prevented us from carrying out our plans.
What about amending the law?
That is for Parliament to do. Now it is too late as Parliament has been dissolved…
But the proposal to use the ink was accepted last July...
It must be scrapped now.
Could your house have been vandalised because people perceive you as biased and because they feel your tenure should not have been extended?
(In a raised voice) Where is my bias? Tell me, in which way have I been biased?
Take for example the issue of media coverage. Some media are helping the party in power and the people (detractors) are pointing their fingers at us. What can we do? This is not under the legal scope of our duties.
Where we are in charge, we are 100 percent perfect. Where we’re not in charge, don’t point fingers at me.
They think it’s good to threaten me. I don’t think it’s necessary. I should not be treated in this manner. I’ve a job to do and I’ve already given my assurance that this election will be very fair.
There are claims of double voting by armed forces personnel...
They have to show evidence of irregularities. And if they have evidence, file an election petition and let the courts decide. So far, no one has come up with any concrete evidence.
What will you do about the indelible ink already purchased?
We will handle that after the election. The secretariat will know what to do.
Will the ink be used in the next elections?
We have to take care of the law first. But that is a policy matter and it’s up the policy makers. The government is aware of this and we’ll see what happens after the elections.
This Is It! Crunch Time!
Tomorrow In one and a half day's time, we'll be out voting *excitingness* and I sure hope you have had your mind made up!
Unlike previous years, we have been casting our votes based on a steady feed from our local mainstream media. Our government has been what they want us to believe they are through the portrayal of the very much controlled media. And kudos! They've done it very well! (Just read our newspapers! I was flipping through yesterday's Star and I was so disgusted, every article is about how great is BN and what a liar is the opposition. The writings are all just so skewed! Sickening)
Well... until now. With the internet, at least more people are aware of the true picture. I hope.
The things which I've been posting over this period of time were not intended to incite hatred or God forbids, to spread rumours! If you would just do your research and read up (from every angle and alternative, not just TV3, TV1 and 2, NTV7, 8TV, and every other controlled form of news), it is not difficult to see the jokes and blatant lies our government is pulling on us.
Earlier on I posted some facts about the amendment of constitution in a couple of countries, namely:
- The USA has been in existence for more than 200 years and their constitution was only amended 27 times.
- Australia has been in existence since 1901 (107 years) and the constitution has only been amended 7 times.
Let's look at our home country. We have just celebrated our 50th anniversary and the Malaysian Constitution has been amended some 690 times.
And out of the many, many reasons they change the constitution, the latest one has got to be my favourite: to extend the EC chairman's contract. *applause*
Have you guys watched any videos when the Parliament is in session? Have you seen how arrogant these rakyat representatives behaved? Shutting the oppositions up whenever they began their speeches? Have you been thrown at with racist and sexist remarks by our representatives as much as the oppositions have endured?
Now, allow me to make clear that I am not endorsing any parties, both current power and the oppositions, far from it. In fact we all know how both sides fare as far as their capability is concerned in running a country.
What I am endorsing is, to exercise our right as a citizen, come out and vote with an informed mind, and deny 2/3. It is with a balance representation from all parties only will the country be checked and grounded, and grow thereon. It is common sense, when the power to be has a 2/3 backing them up, can the remaining 1/3 still object? In fact, there's no need for any kind of debating any longer!
Remember the AG report? A set of 4-screwdriver that costs RM224 amongst other items? What happened now? No news? What about the memorandum calling for a review of laws affecting the right of the non-Muslims submitted by 9 non-Muslim cabinet members to the PM and then kena tendang balik the following day? The many names bloggers were called by the leaders: goblok (that’s equivalent to stupid in Indon), beruk, liars. The rapist cum murderer of little Nurin who is still free at large and Sharlinie’s still missing. And there are so many more cases that were swept under the carpet, out of sight out of mind.
Sometimes, seriously, we really can’t blame the authorities but ourselves. Simply because we appointed them by our votes, when things happened and brought to our attention, we got angry for a while and then we forgot about it, no point bringing it up, no use wan, government can do anything, we can’t fight against them, it’s like that wan lahhhhh. As long as it don’t affect me, I can close one eye, why so kaypoh?
Ever heard of malang tak berbau? Things can just happen to you :)
Yes, I have a job and I'm happy with it, I have a house to stay in albeit renting, I get to drive around in my locally made Wira and be entertained in the cinema, but is that all I really care about? Bread and butter issues? Me, myself, and I only? No! I want to be a proud Malaysian! One who can stand out amidst my foreign friends and speak of my love for this country, for the just government that I've voted for, the government that I can trust my problems to! Now? Now I rather keep my mouth shut on a table of various citizens, lest I’d be asked “Oh Malaysia. So what is happening to your government? Why can’t you get a permit for a peaceful demo? Aren’t you a democratic country?”
Dot dot dot. Sweat.
I’ve been asking myself over and over again. Why should I settle for the 2nd best (like now, gohmen is like that wan, everywhere also the same. I get to survive enough already) when I can determine a first class, just, and professional government with my vote? I just can’t be so short sighted and keep quiet simply because I have all the essentials that promised my basic survival and close one eye to the corruptions around me!
Our Information Minister Zainuddin Maidin told Al Jazeera that we are not Pakistan, not Burma, not Myanmar (aren’t Burma and Myanmar the same? O_o), my question to him is, why are we comparing ourselves, who we claimed to be a much more developed country, to those who are still struggling? Yes, so that we may be thankful that our country is not like others. OK. And then? What’s next? So we should be thankful and just stay there? What about improvements? No need to continue to develop the country already is it since we are better than them? Why not we compare ourselves with say, Singapore, Australia, and the lot? Oh you know, just so that we LEARN, and IMPROVE for real?
You see, if I fear change, then I shall not expect improvement. Unless I deem improvement is useless and want to stay where I am forever, then I should also forever shut my mouth and never ever complain about the sorry state that I'm in in this country! I really hope you share the same sentiments too.
I was watching 10,000BC yesterday. And at the ending, when the lead character D’Leh was trying to convince his people and the many people from other tribes who were enslaved to come together as one and fight the oppression, most everyone felt unsure. They were not happy, obviously, to have their families killed brutally, and be made a slave and build some tower for some mere man who claimed to be the almighty, and to sleep in jails and treated like dirt; but when opportunity arrived for them to make a change, they hesitated, afraid of shaking the boat and causing catastrophic results.
What if the change brings freedom in its truest sense? Ever thought of that?
Politics in Malaysia are far from being dandy and clean, that much you should already know. When you have the power to extend the contract of the EC chairman, do you not think you'll also make use of your power to ensure your winning? A win that is so crucial to ensure a happy pocket? Think about it.
In fact, don't just sit there in front of this post and think! Talk to people, google up facts, dig out newspapers, compare manisfestos vs results, study the track records, in summary, don't let others, like me, to talk you into voting for any party for that matter!
Yes, I’ve said that votes can be manipulated, which is what is happening all the while. (seriously where do you think the phantom votes come from? The dead who came back to vote? Children’s names on the voter’s list, etc, etc, etc.) That said, we still cannot ignore our responsibility as a voter in this country! However dirty the tricks powers can pull, we must first do our part, which is to step out and vote.
Remember, the downfall of any organisations lies in the failures of the leadership. If the leadership of a country is not strong, is selfish, then the country will be weak, you and I in it will suffer. So if you understand how important each and every one of you are as an individual that made up this country is, then please, I urge you, again and again, vote with an informed mind this coming 8th of March; a date that will determine our lives for the next 5 years.
If by now, you’re still reading my rambling here at this point, I’m sure your heart is for Malaysia. But Malaysia doesn’t and will not belong to you unless you make your stand and claim it.
I’m so ready for tomorrow. Saturday!
My Mind Is Wondering…
What are they going to do with RM2.4 million worth of indelible ink? 2.4 million woh! That’s a lot of Nasi Kandar man!
I picked this up yesterday:
(source)
PUTRAJAYA: The use of indelible ink on polling day has been scrapped after police received reports of a plan to “sabotage” the election process in Perlis, Kedah and Kelantan.
(source) / (source)
The Election Commission has cancelled the use of indelible ink for this general election, citing public order and security issues.
Security issues -_- This is a joke through and through! Now they are saying
(source)
Abdul Rashid said the use of indelible ink would not be effective as the country's constitution allows those who refuse to have their fingernail marked with the ink to still be issued with a ballot.
He added that the use of the indelible ink could infringe the constitutional right of a voter to cast his vote, especially if the commission tries to bar someone from voting for having an ink marked in his finger.
"From a practical point of view, the issuance of a ballot paper to such a voter would render the EC's proposal meaningless and will not bring about a positive result, whilst having the potential to create misunderstanding as well as altercations and arguments at polling stations," he said.
Then whose idea is it to use and approve this method in the first place?! Oh here’s more…
He added that the Federal Constitution gives Malaysians the right to vote and a black mark on the fingernail should not bar people from exercising this right, he said. The loophole can only be removed with a constitutional amendment, which requires a vote by parliament, which has been dissolved for elections to take place.
There. See what is the use of our constitution? EC chairman’s contract expiring! Let’s amend constitution to extend his contract! Indelible ink cannot bar people from voting! Let’s amend the constitution! Suka-suka only!
Jokers! A bunch of jokers are running my country!!! Waddup dude?! >(
Oh well, on a lighter note, the phantom voters can now all come out and play! Yay!
That Whole Orgasmic Slurp
Life can be real cruel when it deals you the shittiest project at work. When a seemingly long, never-ending day finally came to an end and you're homeward bound, all you wanted is, really, just a bed.
But when you remember that cup of leftover San Francisco Mocha Extreme needed some loving when you stepped in your house, and you instinctively dragged your aching feet to the fridge and reached into then cold, cold box for it, a smile broke across your tighten facial muscles and you take a long, lusty suck on the chewed straw from the previous night, and suddenly, as if you've gotten a current jolt, you exclaimed "life is good again!!!" and you slumped right onto the couch and let enveloped by the cottony cushion.
Ah yes, life is really good again.
p/s speaking of which, starbucks has got really sexy caramel hot chocolate! Like drinking cookie dough :)
Signing out from starbucks. Ta.
There's Always A Bye-Bye Somewhere
OK chill. I haven’t turned this blog into some socio political one, neither am I dipping my foot into the politics. It’s the election season and everyone’s digging out their tricks and antics to woo you over to their camp. My job, and I assume yours too, is not to preach which camp is better and which is not, because either way they are equally bad that I’ll leave it to your own good judgement; rather I just want to do my part in spreading the real pictures about the state of our country this time of the year. Maklumlah, our news are so filtered, I don’t see how useful the newspapers are other than to wrap fish. >(
Yeah yeah I noticed what a mean butch beast I’ve turned into but I’m just really angry! For all the blatant lies our so called leaders are feeding us with, and all the threats they so freely throwing at us, and the chemical laced water and tear gasses they so generously shoot us with at anytime they want, even in the presence of children! And they detained an 11- year-old girl who just wanted to present roses to (gargh! I’m really tempted to call him by his net nick!) the PM! Urgh! (I've lost most of the links I want to link up here, malas mau re-research, but you can verify what I'm saying by googling 'em. You'll get plenty of returns.)
And then come election, use (our tax) money, mandarin oranges, and plastic smiles to buy the people’s vote. Oh and suddenly they spearhead nothing but education and education is of utmost importance and hey here’s an allocation of education fund by the thousands (which we’ll never give you if it’s not for GE!), take it to raise up the lil ‘uns. Let’s not even go the house of worships department, if you know what I’m saying!
And you know what’s the best thing? People buy it! People actually buy those candies! I mean, sure, candies are put before your eyes, takkan don’t eat right? But after you suck on them and get all sugar-high, and then what? Nothing but decaying tooth!
Joh! So angry lah! >(((
So angry because I now know the truth. Do you?
My to-do list at work and other commitment is getting a little bit out of hand. There’s 2 types of workers, either they make or break under pressure. If you haven’t notice, I’m of the latter category T_T I’ll need to constantly remind myself and tell myself "ok, leishia, this' not the end of the world; everything can be done under proper planning. So plan." So I’ll sit down and breathe (no kidding) and meditatively take out a pen and my organizer (which will never last more than 4 months before you see papers of all sizes being strewn across the table), and started listing down what needs my attention, and then prioritize them by numbering. On an average good day, my world will only come to an end by the 4th hour.
Sent a baby girl off yesterday. Everyone cried her a river :’(
Hey you,
I don’t know why lah can be so emo even though knowing you’ll be back like in 10 months time or so, and besides, not like we’ve known each other for ages right? But replying your sms in the car also made me cried. I was seriously on a roll =.= But the fact that we haven’t been friends for long doesn’t mean this baby friendship means nothing (to me lah), it’s really an honour for me to have a friend like you, you’re just so…. Gladys! You know, a little ditsy, a little duh, a little girly, a little boyish, but a lot of joy and positive vibes. Thanks for rubbing some off to me :) Take care now and send my regards to your mom (yes! I transcend generations!) and BLOG lah woman please! Zzz.
Are We Getting Things Straight Here?
This is really disturbing…
PETALING JAYA: Police have stopped the house-to-house search for missing girl Sharlinie Mohd Nashar due to the general election but will continue if new leads surface.
The 1,100 police personnel involved in the search have been deployed for the election.
Open Your Eyes Big Big
See the statistics! See the figures! See for yourself! YOU, ME, ALL OF US are part of this mess that is our country. This concerns YOU, ME, ALL OF US even if we are not into politics. People, please lah! It just makes me so angry every time people tell us that they “are not into politics,” “we have no choice,” “but the YB so and so came and shook hand with us and gave us oranges woh,” “I don’t care. Let them go fight till cows come home lah. It doesn’t concern me,”
Wtf! Might as well give up your citizenship and move to the jungle. Wait, I think even that also you need to apply for permit to build a humble hut on a small humble piece of land that our greedygohmen claims ownership of. And pay cukai taksiran. T__T
Full article here
So what has 50 years of 2/3 majority given us?
- The Malaysian Constitution has been amended some 690 times. The USA has been in existence for more than 200 years and their constitution was only amended 27 times.
- The Constitution is amended for matters as trivial as extending the term of office of the Elections Commission officers, simply to avoid facing rejection by the Agung.
- Because of the overwhelming power available to the Executive, the Legislature has been reduced to a rubber stamp, the Judiciary has been emasculated and corrupted and the powers of the Agung have been clipped.
- The legal system is a sad joke, serving only further the desires of the ruling clique.
- The Elections Commission serves only to ensure that the ruling clique is returned to power.
In the last election, Barisan Nasional received only 63.8% of the popular votes but has 91% of all parliamentary seats. All due to gerrymandering, phantom votes, voter relocation, voter substitution… there are even suspicions of ballot box stuffing.
UMNO received 35.9% of the popular votes, has 50% of the parliamentary
seats and holds 71% of the ministerial positions. The other members of the
coalition have been reduced to running dogs, wagging their tails and begging for
scraps.
Little Napoleons have been allowed to run rife and the rights of non-Malay, non-Muslim communities have been trampled upon. The Wakil Rakyat do nothing even when constitutional amendments threatening these rights are proposed. It is left to the opposition members to highlight these alarming matters and try to prevent total steamrolling.
Meanwhile, it’s not like the rights of all Malays are really being addressed…
How much more of this can we take? How much more of this should we take?
Change may not necessarily be better.
But without change, it is not possible to become better.
If we want to become better, we must want change.
It is time the 2/3 majority in parliament is dismantled.
We hold that power.
March 8: Have You Registered?
poster taken from get-an-mp
Do you not know, that where a single party, or person, controls 2/3 or more of Parliament, there is no longer any protection from the Constitution? That 2/3 is all that is needed to amend, change, delete the provisions therein, and then it will be the highest law in the land… For there is no one in Parliament who can keep this from
happening, who can help us.
Our YB’s - no matter how responsible/honest/principled/well-meaning
they are (if they are) - they are bound by Party Discipline, they can only
vote along party lines or face severe personal and political repercussions.
They do not dare to speak out. They will not speak out.
And those that do, the few courageous, and the few Oppositions…their small voices are washed out by the sheer number of those that mock, ridicule, ignore, eject, suspend, criticize, judge, sue, imprison - with impunity.
CHINESE NEW YEAR IS HERE!!!!!!!!
I love love love the last 3 days before Chinese New Year because it means Chinese New Year is coming! Hehe. But the minute the first day hit, then no fun ady, because the few days of holiday will just fly. Le sigh.
But! Let’s not damp the spirit now, shall we? :):) These are what I love about CNY…
- The oily, burnt yok gon
- The taste of bubbly Shandy lulling on my tongue
- The reunion dinner!!!
- My parents’ shady, air-conditioned house in the hot of the afternoons
- Watching often re-aired Hong Kong romantic comedies
- The sleep fest
- The fried nian gao / sweet potato sandwich
- The hakka chap choy dish (must be eaten with chilli sauce!) done to perfection by my grandma on the first day of CNY!
- Ang pau
- The smuggled-in McD meals on the first day when we’re supposed to be an one-day-vegetarian. Shhhh.
